Found It Thanks for replying Sheila. I was out of town when making my initial post and didn't have the model number available.
My Model No. is 106.56719500, as stated it's a 2006 Kenmore Elite (Coldspot) that is identical to the KitchenAid. Today while replumbing (removing) the ice maker's $42.00 carbon filter I found three 8-1/2"x11"sheets folded up into 2" sq's pressed into the slots on the back side of the kickplate. These were very informative providing ice maker info, cabinet wiring, and complete electronics diagnostics.
Thanks for confirming a 120vdc ice dispenser motor. My only question at this point is the wiring diagram sheet implies power is rectified on the control board supplying 120vdc to the motor and reversing the polarity on the board output for motor rotation direction change? The diagram "foot note" could be referring to a board within the motor housing. I was going to place a VOM meter on the control board outputs first to verify if output is 120vac or 120vdc if any, then proceed to the motor. I don't have a 120vdc source to confirm motor operation. Also are the solid state relays on the control board a common source of failure? I'm not beyond pulling out the soldering iron and replacing a $3.00 relay. The fact that both crushed and cubed ice delivery failed simultaneously leads me to suspect a motor failure.
Thanks again for responding any additional would be helpful.
Dale
PS: If you have time could you check out my Microwave post. I know I caused the door code error and suspect that a reset feature should be available but not sure how to activate it. |
