Default Ice maker working, water dispenser not
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSL25JFPD BS
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi,

My water dispenser is not working, but the ice maker is functioning. The manual indicates the water reservoir may be frozen. If so, how do I fix that problem? Where is the water reservoir?

Thanks.

Tim

The reservoir, is in the refrigerator, behind your vegetable draw. The best thing to do is get a blow dryer on it, and warm it up. If it does not work after that, there should be a quick connect just under the freezer door, you shouls have to take the bottom kick plate off to see it. Push in on the colored tab to release the quick connect, and then ask for water at the dispenser. If water comes out, the water is frozen in the door. If water does not come out you need to replace the water valve in the rear. If you need me you can reach me at my website at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

Hi Tom,

Tried it out last night and it worked. Behind the veg drawer was the water line which was neatly curled and twist tided. The line was frozen. I simply uncurled it enough to submerge into a bowl of hot water and within 3-5 mins it worked. Thanks again.

Tim
