Default Ice maker won't work
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: gs5shaxnb00
Age: 1 - 4 years

There is no water going to my ice maker. (Side by side refrigerator.) The electric eye seems to be working and going though a cycle, but no water. Checked though some of the past threads, but I'm not sure how specific the answers are based on different models. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The file tube that runs water into the ice maker maybe frozen shut.

Pull the refrigerator out from the wall and you will see the line that runs up to the ice maker.

Remove that line from the water valve and try to blow air though it.
It should be open at all times.

ok this may sound like a stupid question, but what kind of connector does the water valve use? Where the poly hose goes into it doesn't look like its supposed to be dicsonnected. If not I'll have to cut the line going to the ice maker and then get a connector at Home Depot.

Question Ice Maker won't work

Ok..I've checked the water line and its not frozen and I've swaped the solinoids and the ice maker solinoid is good. So I'm not getting a fill signal from the ice maker? Is this a specific part within the ice maker or do I need to replace the whole thing?

Not a stupid question at all.

Here is a video to show you how it works.

I would replace the whole ice maker.

Default ice maker

Check the temp of your freezer, It needs to be below 11 degrees to cycle the icemaker
