This is the second time this happened to me. The first time was about 2 years ago I got up and found my kitche full of water and when I opened the freezer it was a ice water fall . The ice maker stopped filling sometime over night. I to it out looked at it cleaned it off then it worked fine until about a few days ago where it did it again but we were able to shut the water off. I thout it maybe the ice maker module, but I wanted to make sure before going to buy one. I did not think it was the valve if the water dispenser shuts off as needed. Any input would be much appreciated.

You have a dual water inlet valve and one side could go bad with out the other. You can swap the wires on the valves and try to make it stick again by pressing the water switch, sending water to the ice maker. It could have sediment that kept it from closing before. If you can't make it stick then it may just be the ice maker

Thanks! I will have to try that. I did pickup a new ice maker yesterday and it seems to be working, but when it happened last time I took the old one out then cleaned it off and through it back in which it worked for about a year and a half. I though it was something to do with the icemaker because the proir weeks leading up to this there were times were I checked the ice and none was made, but the bar was down. That is why I ran out and got a new maker. But I will try the wire swap as a test.
