Default Ice maker Water dispenser Problem
Brand: Kenmore
Age: More than 10 years

From what I have figured out I do not have a leak per se. Rather there is condensation on the outside of the dispensing unit which collects in the tray and eventually overflows. The dispenser mechanism has also stopped working although the ice maker continues to work OK.

Does the door around the dispensing unit have a heater that operates to prevent condensation and freezing? Has something in the freezer side door given up? What needs repair in this case?

Can you please supply your model number?

It will be on a tag either behind the kick plate or in the fridge section with the serial number.

If the dispenser unit is not working at all, no ice or water, there may be a broken wire in the harness.

Check the wiring that is going through the hinge.

the Kenmore Model # is 978.902220 Ser # L223 40057

It makes ice OK. But the dispenser for water/ice does not work and it appears as though water is collecting by means of condensation on the outside of the dispenser
