Ice maker slowed down,....Now it dosen't make ice at all.........

I have a dated filter that is about 3 months over due to be changed but, the light never came on to change it. I just thought it was in good.....I'm changeing it now to see if that was the problem. Any other ideas????

When you say the ice maker slowed down what do you mean?

Do you mean that it was not making as much ice as before?

What is the temperature in the freezer?

For the ice maker to work the freezer must be 5 degrees or below.

If you are still getting water at the door there is nothing wrong with the filter.

The water valve for the ice maker at the back of the fridge may have failed.
