Default Ice Maker Quit making ice
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KUIA15NRHS5
Age: 1 - 4 years

Water comes into the water pan reservoir, but does not go out. Even in CLEAN mode, water stays in the pan. I tried to run cleaning solution, but it stays in the pan reservoir too. Condenser unit is clean and it appears all tubes are clear.

Is it the circulating pump, and how can I isolate the problem. Any help appreciated.

You should be able to hear the pump running.

If you can't you should check the connection to the pump.

Here is a link to your ice maker model KUIA15NRHS5.

Thanks Sheila:
I checked the connection, it appears fine. I can not hear the pump run. If it was running, would not the water be pumped out.

I'll be happy to purchase a new pump, but because it's $277 I want to be relatively sure that is the p[roblem. Is there a way to test if the pump is bad?

Check and see if you are getting voltage to the motor.

If there is no voltage to the pump you have another problem.

It could be in the electronic board.

If the pump was running and no water was circulating this would tell you the pump impeller failed.
