Default Ice maker not working
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.8536970
Age: More than 10 years

a friend sold us this refrigerator and the ice machine isn't making any ice. I tried to find a manual online with no success. It looks like water is getting to the ice maker but it is only producing very little ice. I see some ice in the ice bin (about 12 cubes) and that is after plugging it in over 12 hours ago.

The temperature in the freezer must be at least 5 degrees for the ice maker to work properly.

The fridge should run for at least 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.

It has been six day is it now making more ice.

Here is a link to the parts of your fridge model 106.8536970.

it is still not making ice. right now when i open the freezer i can see the ice maker look like its working. No water is getting into the ice maker now or very little water. I checked the feeder tube and it does feel like it has frozen water in it.

Twist and pull the tube out and thaw the ice and put it back in. Your water inlet valve is probably leaking slowly allowing it to freeze in the tube. Check water inlet valve.
