Unhappy Ice maker not working
Brand: Roper
Age: 1 - 4 years

We had our water off, when my son was putting in a faucet. He had the wrong fixture and it was too late to go to store. Did not turn the water on until the next day. We forgot to turn the ice maker off. It has not made ice since then. What part do we need to replace? Thanks

It depends you might not need a part, do you know how to put the icemaker into harvest?? If so do that and see if it goes all the way around and fills with water!!!!!

Question Ice maker not working

Thank you DaMole.

I do not know how to harvest an icemaker? Could you explain to this Grandma?
Don't have the money to have someone come out to fix it and I sure do miss that ice. Hard to go back to ice trays, after you get use to getting crushed out of the door!!!

on your ice maker it should sit on the left side of your freezer on the front of it there is a white cover pull that cover off , you will see two gears alittle one that sits on top of a big one , there are two diffrent types one is a module and you cannot turn the gear it should say on it not to turn it, if it is this type you need to take a piece of wire and cross T to H the two closest together under the big gear,
and it should go right into harvest if not there could be a problem with the module itself or there is no power to it and something could be wrong in the fridge wiring... If it is the mechanical type it should be shinny metal and there will be a little gear and a big gear again, also there is a screw on the top right side that has a + and a - this controls how much water you get or just how big an ice cube you like , on this one turn the little gear counter clockwise and it should go into harvest, HARVEST-----> When the forks go around causing the ice to be dispensed into bucket , wait untill it completes its cycle completly stick your fingers into it and see if its full of water you should actually hear it do it!!!!!!

Let me know how it goes!!!!!!!!
