Default Ice Maker Not Working
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MSD2756GEB
Age: 1 - 4 years

The water dispenser works OK!
The Ice Maker is not making ice.

It does seem to be getting any water.
Where can I buy the selenoids?
Any where can I find wiring diagrams. (My brother-in-law tried to fix it!!!)

thanks!

I replaced both valves.

Now, there is a little water (6 oz.) that will come out of the water dispenser about every 15 minutes.

The water filter seems to be full of water, & was under pressure when I removed it.

The ice maker did make some ice; however, the ice was hollow. There seemed to be very little water getting to the ice maker.

Could it be a blockage in the lines?

Yes. You can disconnect the supply line before the water inlet valve and see what kind of flow you have. There may be a strainer stopped up there. If the flow is good try any other place in the line you can get to . Any time your working on water lines you can cause trash or sediment to loosen and stop up something somewhere.

Default Similar Issue...

My ice maker has had similar problems where it would only get hollow cubes. Replaced both single and dual water valves. Since, replacement, no ice is made. My issue is no water going through to ice maker. Have tested flow by switching tubes from water dispenser to ice machine and flow is good (now I can manually make ice by pressing the water button on front of machine).

Is there a controller board or a part that needs to be replaced which calls for the ice machine to fill with water?

Thanks!

That control is part of the ice maker. If it's a mechanical type you can replace parts. If it's modular just replace the ice maker. Ice Maker Repair Guide: How To Fix an Ice Maker - ACME HOW TO.com
