Just to make sure, you still have ice in the ice maker mold correct? It just isn't cycling?

If so, you probably have a bad module or possible emitter/receiver board. If you get a chance verify their is ice in your mold, turn off the light to your kitchen, cover up the light in your freezer, tape down the emitter door (flapper door on the left hand side) let me know if you still get two blinks or if you get a solid beam.

Then just email me at mgogel@yahoo.com and I can help you out.

OK... that sounds like a possible water valve issue then on your icemaking coil. The single blink shows that your icemaker was in cycle. I am assuming the cubes in the tray were ejected and no additional water filled the mold so the mold is empty?

Two things to check. Look to see if the black tube filling your icemaker is frozen. Second, fill your icemaker with 4oz of water and wait an hour. The water should freeze and dump into your bucket by then. Hopefully it will refill on its own. If not let me know. I work where we used to build our icemakers so I can help you out with what ever you need.

Let's see if I can answer your two posts...
No there is no ice in the mold. The first day we noticed the lack of cubes, we took the whole unit out and melted out the cubes that seemed stuck. Put unit back in, turned on and nothing.

Today my husband turned the ice maker on in the morning, I discovered the ejector arms going around, but no water/ice in mold. So that's where we're at. The black tube at the top of the ice maker does not appear to be frozen/blocked.

I will try putting the 4 oz of water in mold, and I hope the ejectors will push it out when frozen. But I don't expect the water to refill...that would be great if it did. Like a mystery miracle.

Let you know what happens.

Ok, its sounds more and more like you might have a water valve problem. If you ejector goes all the way around and doesn't take a fill typically that is a water valve issue.

Let me know what you get with the 4oz, because the Kenmore IDI icemaker is designed to get very cold in order to increase its icemaking rate. Occasionally, what will happen is that the mold will not warm up quickly enough to allow for water fill. The icemaker is setup where the mold needs to reach 32 degrees before allowing for a water fill. We have seen incidences where on these fast rate icemakers that the icemaker doesn't have time to warm up sufficiently until after it has passed through the water fill stage. This is pretty rare, but the 4oz water check should give us that answer.

After you check that let me know what you find. Send your address to mark_a_gogel@whirlpool.com and I can hook you up with whatever you need.

Jessi/Compaq trying turning your icemaker off for an hour and then flipping it back on. (Make sure your electronics beam isn't blocked by ice or anything else) Shut the freezer door for a minute and half and re-open. The emitter on the right hand side should be blinking a red light continuously as the icemaker is trying to run.

Check the position of the fingers in the icemaker mold... Is the icemaker trying to run or are the fingers still pointing out of the icemaker mold? If they are out of the icemaker mold try wiggling the fingers to see if something happens. If not let me know.
