Default Ice maker not making ice
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.56539400
Age: 5 - 10 years

This ice maker started slowing down on making ice and eventually made none at all. I first noticed that I was not hearing the water filling the tray.

My husband would rather repair it himself Anyway does anyone have any advice or links? He basically need a diagam of some kind.

But any thoughts on what may be wrong would also be appreciated.

Thank you

Make sure the freezer is cold enough to make ice, should be at most around 10 degrees.

You noticed it wasn't getting water. Is this after it dumps a load of ice that it doesn't refill. Supply line could be stopped up or water inlet valved defective.

I'm not sure about the 10 degrees but when it was setup the installers said leave both the refrigerator and the freezer on setting 4.

If I reach in there I can feel frozen ice but it doesn't dump into the bucket and for a week now I haven't heard water. This may be because there is ice in the tray.

It was dropping ice very slowly then nothing. I set accler ice also and it didn't help.
We do get water just fine though.

Sorry I am not mechanically inclined and hope this makes sense

You need to check your freezer temp first.
