Hello,
My ice maker is making very little ice - not even enough for the 2 of us that use it. Whirlpool has replaced it twice (at no charge), but it is still making very little ice. The most recent replacement was just last week. It does fill with water, freezes, and dumps the ice, but it is just very slow. Any ideas?

*I forgot to mention earlier that I checked the freezer temp this morning and it was around 8 degrees (F).

The freezer should be 5 degrees or colder.

This is likely what is causing it not to make ice as it should.

Change your temperature setting and see what happens.

I think the temp control is set just about as cold as possible, but I will check it tonight. If possible, I will turn it down over the weekend and see what happens. It seems to freeze the water rather quickly as is, but does not empty the tray very often. Is there any way to shorten the time between each empty?
