Default Ice maker not getting water
Brand: Please select
Model Number: 253.53612300
Age: 1 - 4 years

Ok my ice maker is not getting water but the drinking water is. I have been reading a little on here trying to figure out what it might be. I have checked the line and it's not frozen or clogged. I saw someone say to switch the plug for the drinking water and the ice maker solenoid so I did that and when I hit the drinking water lever it filled the ice tray. So that means that the solenoid for the ice side is working? Where do I go from here? for tonight I switched the freezer to it's coldest setting and I will leave the tray full of water and see what happens. Also I don't think it would be because the freezer isn't cold enough because we put a regular ice tray in and it freezes just fine.

Thanks,
Brian

Do post back letting us know if the ice maker dumped the ice after it froze and whether or not it filled with water.

I checked this morning and it didn't dump the ice out of the tray? I turned the temp in the freezer down to the lowest temp. I will check when I get back from work.

Thanks,
Brian

If you switched the lines in the back to see if it will fill then you put the line to the water dispencer to the ice maker and when you call for water then it will fill the ice maker, It sounds like the problem is in your Valve !!!!!!

If you have a meter , pull the wires off of the Ice maker valve put your meter on it and put the ice maker into harvest when it calls for water it should give you around 120 volts + or - a few!!!!!!!!!!! If it dosent send power to it then its possible there is a problem in the cabinet of the fridge or with your Ice maker itself
