Default Ice maker not filling
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 10657767790
Age: 5 - 10 years

My ice maker has stoped making ice. It still turns and if I put water in it manually it will freeze and kick it out. The water dispencer works fine. I pulled the frig out and took off the back and after a while I noticed water coming out of a tube (looked like an overflow) under the frig. There was some water on the floor not a lot. I did notice it appeared that a little water had gone down the back and on the wall. It looked like it could have come from the tube that goes up the back of the frig and then goes in at the top. I think it might be the valve but want to make sure before I spend $40.

Can you help
Rick

With an ohm meter check the valve.

You should get the same reading on both valves.

The tube that the water was coming out of was likely the drain tube for the defrost water.

Here is a link to the parts of your fridge model 10657767790.

Here is the fill valve.

What do I set the ohm meter to and where do I attach it? Can you tell me step by step as I have never done this before?

The water that came out of the tube started dripping more and more than was a small stream so I shut off the water.
I did notice it appeared that a little water had gone down the back and on the wall. It looked like it could have come from the tube that goes up the back of the frig and then goes in at the top. (where would this come from)?

The frezzer was caught open by a frozen dinner about 1/4 inch for a half day. Could the temp drop cause the ice tray not to fill and maybe it needs to be reset?

How would you sugest I trouble shoot this?

Thanks
