The ice maker makes ice fine it started slowing down crushing ice then it stopped almost all together it will make a little every now and again we mostly only use the crushed ice for years the cubed ice comes out ok most times when you haven't tried to use the crushed ice.

When you dispense cubes does it sound the same?

You will have to take the ice bucket out and see what is worn in the bucket dispenser assembly.
