Default Ice Maker.. No Water In Line
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ED2GTQXKQ00
Age: 1 - 4 years

I replaced the water dispenser water inlet valve kit, reattached the 2 water lines (1 for the water, 1 for the icemaker). then reattached the 2 AC Adapters. I then turned the water on. I noted the water did not go up the water line to the icemaker and still don't know why. One technician said that the icemaker cycles in about 1 1/2 hours so I waited 2 hours and nothing happens. I did test the water from the water dispenser and am getting water there. Does anyone know why I am not getting water up the water line to the icemaker?

Thank you for the opportunity to post.

Dave

First try manually filling the ice tray and when it dumps see if it calls for the water then.

Here is what you need to do. Take off the white cover on the ice maker. Then if you have any wire around, cut a piece about six inches long, and strip off the rubber coating about a half inch on each end. Then with the unit plugged in I want you to put 1 stripped end in the hole marked N, and the other stripped end in the hole marked M. This will jumped the icemaker out into a cycle. after about 15 seconds you can pull the wires out, and watch the cycle. Now before you do all this, make sure where the water comes into the ice maker, that is the plactic tube on the inside of the freezer that drops the water in the icemaker is not frozen up. I have a feeling that could be your problem. What I would do is go to the back of the freezer where the plastic water line goes in, and take it off. Then jump out the icemaker like I told you, and if water comes out of the tube, and the end of the icemaker cycle, which should take about 4 minutes you know that the water tube is frozen in the freezer. Since you replaced the water valve, and you know you have the water turned on to the refrigerator, if no water comes out, you have to replace the icemaker head. The part # is 628366. If you need me you can get me at my web site. T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE Tom

Tom; Thank you for your reply, I did as you said, I watched it go thru the cycle but water never did go up the intake hose to the icemaker. I'm going to get a new icemaker head and replace it. Thanks again.
