My Ice maker leaks water into tray that holds ice.

At times the Ice Maker does not make ice at all, and at other times it seems to work fine.

Do I need to replace the Ice Maker or something else.

Any help will be appreciated.

Is the tray in the ice maker leaking or over filling?

When it does not make ice is there ice in the tray and it won't dump or is it empty?

If it over fills or the tray is empty then it could be a sticky valve.

The valve is at the back of the fridge and the water line is hooked to it.
