I am having the same problem with my Amana side by side. If my problem is the same as yours Mr. Treu, the maker is not over filling. The leak is coming just under the water fill tube on the right hand side of the unit as you look at it through the leftside open freezer door. It appears to drip more after the maker refills itself after the ice drops and then tapers off. In fact, if you let it go long enough, the maker quits making ice because the slow drip forms an ice flow all the way from the bottom of the bucket up to the maker. At that point, the arm cannot drop down to let more water enter the maker. I have to chip it all out, and the unit works for about 2 to 3 drops of ice and then the flow takes over the auger mechanism again from ice buildup.
I really don't want to spend the money replacing the entire ice maker because it is comical watching my wife and kids try to get ice out of it, but I am getting the look of alternate uses for our ice pic if I don't fix it pretty soon. This sounds like a simple washer or valve problem. Any suggestions for an inexpensive fix to this problem? Quote:
