Default Ice maker leaking water in freezer
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: frs23lh5db7
Age: 1 - 4 years

my icemaker is leaking water inside the freezer. i think the icemaker is telling the valve to dump water too often. it cycles about every 5 min. then dumps more water before the ice in the tray is frozen so it overfills it continues to do this. while the valve is dumping water i can unplug the icemaker or the solenoids on the valve and it will stop. i was wandering if the valve is bad or the icemaker. any help would be appreciated. thank you in advance.

the icemaker cycles every 3min not 5 and it dumps water for7 sec. but it does not have time to freeze and dump the ice in the tray before the next cycle of water dumps. i ohm tested the valve it is showing 197 on the icemaker side and 192 on the water line side. i also tested the inlet switch in the icemaker and the switch seems to be working. hope this helps in diag. thanks.

also, can i adjust the screw on the icemaker or should i leave it alone?

i replaced the water valve and the filter and the leak has slowed down but it is still leaking out of icemaker tray. should i replace icemaker or is it possible that i got a bad part. there is an adjustment on frt of the icemaker that adjust from + to - . can i adjust this and if so which way should i turn it.?

If you want to lower the water level, back out the screw. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
