Default Ice Maker Issue
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: ED25TQXEW00
Age: 5 - 10 years

Ice maker quit ejecting the ice cubes. I could put a little hot water in the tray and it would then eject the cubes. I figured the tray heater element was gone. Instead of trying to mess with separate parts, I ordered an exact replacment complete unit. I replaced it and hooked it up. After a while it filled up with water and made ice, but it still does not eject them. Is there something internal to the fridge that can cause this????? Everything else seems to be working fine.

Did the front of the ice maker come with the unit that you got?

What was the part number that you received?

Default Unit that I ordered

Ordered the following unit from pcapplicancerepair.com

001 WPL 4317943 Replacement Icemaker $ 87.50 $ 87.50 OK

4317943 is the part number..at least as far as this order is concerned...

The new unit looks exactly the same as the old one...same electrical plug etc even the same color wires.

Here is a link on how to test your ice maker.

This may help to determine what is happening.
