Default Ice maker freezes cubes in tray
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX24F
Age: 5 - 10 years

Ice freezes in the trays and although it appears to go through all the cycles, it will not throw the cubes into the bin. Do I have a heater problem of some type? How do I check Helen

It sound like the heater or the thermostat could be faulty.

Take the front cover off the ice maker and check the heater and thermostat for continuity.

Here is a link to your fridge model TFX24F.

Here is a link on how to test your ice maker.

Sheila- Was able to open the link from the E-Mail. We do not have the convenient modular configuration to be able to test the heater and motor. Afraid I am still at al oss as to how to test. Have a voltmeter. Helen

You will have to use your wiring diagram to check the components of the ice maker.

The wiring diagram should be in an envelope under the fridge behind the kick plate.
