 Ice Maker dumps water rather than ice Brand: Whirlpool Model Number: 106 626636 Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Whirlpool side X side refrigerator (model GD26HGXKQ00) with a modular ice maker (model 106 626636). After finding water on my kitchen floor last night, I have investigated and found that when the ice maker goes through its cycle, it actually dumps water into the bin rather than ice. The water then runs into the ice shute in the door and eventually leaks out onto the floor. The temperature inside the freezer compartment is approx. zero. Checking between points T & H shows continuity, so I assume that means that the thermostat is closed, as it should be. Any suggestions as to what might be happening? |
