Default Ice Maker Does Not Work At All
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRG25FKSS15
Age: 1 - 4 years

My ice maker has quit completely. I have verified that my filler line is not frozen and that the ice machine is turned on. It is NOT getting any water into the tray to make ice. I have also checked the plugs and they appear to be connected well. When the ice machine works, you can definately hear it filling with water and working, but it is completely dead right now. I am know thinking new motor or maybe the thermostat -- or just buy an entire ice maker for $140 and be done with it.

Thanks

First make sure freezer temp. is below 15 degrees. If so,drain icemaker mold,go to back of refrigerator and apply 115 volts to the icemaker valve for 9 seconds. If it fills you have a bad icemaker, if not frozen water line in freezer or bad valve.

By bad valve, do you mean the Solenoid Valve, Part #2188746?

If the icemaker is bad, would you suggest replacing the entire ice maker or just the motor assembly?

Thanks for you help.

Could someone explain how to apply 115V to the valve? Thanks.

I use a "cheater" cord from an old appliance. And yes I allways replace entire icemaker.
