Default Ice maker cup breaking
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: pss26sgpass
Age: 1 - 4 years

The plastic cup that fits inside our icemaker keeps breaking. It fits inside the screw that turns to despense the ice and mates with the motor and shaft in the rear of the freezer. I can't tell if it is a design issue or why it is breaking. I've gone through three this year. The first year we didn't break any. Any ideas? BTW, I called GE and they could offer no help.

The new age of young buck engineers, and cheap plastic. You just have to do it again. If you guy's don't use much ice, the ice builds up, and freezes, and the auger motor is low gear, and real strong, it will break the cup all the time. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
