Default Ice Maker auger motor - no power
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TPX24PRBC
Age: 5 - 10 years

Having a problem with the auger not turing on a GE Profile side by side.
The for the turns the auger is not moving and through my investigation I determined that the auger motor is not getting any power. Light works fine, solinoid engages fine - even tried using the wires from the solinoid and the auger moter will turn and the door flap will open. Checked with a volt meter as well and don't get anything.
Not sure what needs to be replaced to take care of the bad power line coming into the auger motor.
(GE Profile TPX24PRBC WW)

You will have to determine where you are loosing your power.

Using your wiring diagram trace the wires to the motor.

Here is a link to your fridge model TPX24PRBCWW.

Question.. where do I find a wiring diagram for this? Also, am I right in thinking that the black wire that comes in from somewhere behind the ice maker is the power that drives that motor?

The wiring diagram is either on the back of the fridge or in a envelope behind the kick plate stuck to the bottom of the fridge.

With out the wiring diagram it is hard to say what the wire is for.

I just ran into the same issue with my KitchenAid KSCS25FKSS00. I thought the motor had seized and just replaced it to find that it still wouldn't turn the auger. Tried switching the wires (temporarily) and the motor turned. Since the light, motor and solenoid are wired in series, it appears to be the blue wire (dedicated negative, I imagine) that is disconnected somewhere. Any additional advice?

I have not had a chance to find the wiring diagram. I will post once I do and see if I can find the source of the power issue.

OK - found the wiring diagram under the fridge and I am able to track the wire that connects to the auger (black) back to the control module that is on the door panel (makes sense the power would start there depending on the switch setting and when you press the button.) There is a connector that has 6 wires coming out of it that connects to the control panel (wires for touch pad, cube, wather valve, auger, dispense light, and duct door.)
So, I would think that the question becomes, is there power coming out of that panel and traveling though the auger wire - based on what else is working, it would seem that all of the other connections are good. Is there a way to test this? I don't think that I can pull the wire out of the connection piece that holds all six wires together and plugs them into the control module - maybe there is a way to do that? To some degree this need to say plugged in so that the touch sensor can be activated to potentially turn on the power.
Maybe I assume that the control module is bad?
Advise on how to proceed at this point is appreciated.

There may be a break in the wire going to the auger.

Do a continuity check on the wire.

If I do that and find that the wire is fine, what is my next step?

If the wiring is good then it would be the control board.
