Question Ice maker from Amana into a Frigedaire
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: Don't know, side by side
Age: More than 10 years

HI, I have a side by side Frigidaire that the ice maker quit working. The ejector motor was bad. I got a brand new ice maker from a friend of mine. She had just had it installed in their Amana fridge, and then they got a new fridge. The ice maker itself fits perfectly in my Frigidaire, everything lines up, but the plug is different. They all have flat plugs, but the plug that goes into the ice maker has 4 flat contacts in the plug. And my Frigidaire cord that plugged into the old ice maker has 4 prongs inside a flat plug. I haven't been able to find an adapter. Can I put the plug from the Amana onto the existing wires in my Frigidaire? I would of course solder and use silacone or something that can handle freezing temps. Are most ice makers universal? except for the plugs?

Thank you ,
Rita

Check the wiring diagram on both fridges and make sure that the wiring is the same.

Then you can us the harness from the Amana.

Most ice maker are the same but check first.

Default Can't find the wiring diagram...

For the Amana Fridge. It was my friends, and since the fridge died, it was disposed of. I can't seem to find the wiring diagram anywhere online. Do you possibly have a diagram? The model # for the Amana is SCD25TW. The # for my Frigidaire is FRS26ZSH.

Thank you!

I can tell you the color of the wires and what they go to.

On the Amana the tan wire goes to the water valve.

The green is ground as with the Frigidaire.

The white is neutral.

The red is the power supply.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I needed to know! Now I can finally hook the ice maker up and throw away the darn ice cube trays!
