Default Ice maker

I was given a U-line icemaker and the icemaker does not work. It appears that the motor is bad. Unfortunately, I cannot find the model number of the unit. The motor number is a whirlpool 625846. I would like to replace the ice-making unit as the compressor on the U-line works very well. The ice making unit has the motor with the part number stated. It has 5 wires coming from it; I am sure that two of these are for a heating unit on the ice making component. The thermosat wire goes into a slot on the ice maker. It is held to the small freezer with two screws just like many other ice makers. Is there anyone who can help with ID ing the ice maker? Also, could I replace the ice maker with any other whirlpool ice maker?

Thanks--I know this is a difficult task.

Using the part number of the motor for the ice maker I found this breakdown of this ice maker.

Here is the break down.

Sheila,

Thanks for the info. Is it possible to replace the ice maker in the uline which has five wires with another whirlpool model that has four wires?

Still trying to figure out why the current unit does not work well. It dumps some of the cubes not all of them all the way.

Thanks again

ted

That would depend on what the fifth wire is for.

When you say it dumps some of the cube not all of them what do you mean?

Does the ejector arm not get all of the ice?
