Cool Ice Maker
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.8596810
Age: More than 10 years

Ice maker works if I manually add water but unit will not receive water automatically. Water dispenser works. I suspect the valve solenoid #627890. The parts drawing does not give a hint as to where this is located. I feel it probably is in the bottom and access is gained from the rear. Am I on the right track?

Thats correct. Its in back of the refrigerator. If you pull the refrigerator out from the wall you will be able to see it in back.
