Default Ice in the freezer Water in fridge
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GT22DKXJWOO
Age: 5 - 10 years

I cleaned the ice from my freezer and water from fridge. But, once again ice builds up in the freezer and water appears in the fridge. If it's the drain pipe where is the drain pipe found? I checked around the drain pan but see no holes.

Thanks

Whirlpool GT22DKXJW00 Parts List This is a diagram and parts list of your model. The evaporator is behind the back panel in the freezer (# 5 on diagram).
Under it is the is the pan drip. ( #7) where the melted frost drips to. You should see the tube in that area.

Woodchuck,
I have a similar problem with a Maytag MSD2456DEW. I've been searching and reviewing other threads on the topic and feel i need to check both my defrost drain system (for frozen/plugged condition) & the defrost controller to check to test it per one of the other threads I saw on how to trigger defrost cycle (relay). Where can i find these on my model?

You have the adaptive defrost control so no timer.

The adaptive control Maytag location is in the refrigerator compartment behind the light shield and control cover.

Maytag forced defrost requires a jumper between L1 & Test on the adaptive board, when the cold control is closed.

This changed in all the 2003 Maytag models where the cold control has to be cycled on & off three times in less than six seconds, and left in the on position - eliminating the jumper procedure.

This diagram shows part 14, which should be connected to your drain tube.

There may also be a diagram behind your kick panel on the front.

Thanks for all your help. The drain pipe was blocked. I tried to clear it with a wire but it didn't work. Then, I put hot water on the pipe. So far, no more water has leaked into my fridge.
Thanks again!!!!

Woodchuck,
Thanks for the hints, i'm finally back from other business travel & while away found the floor puddles have ceased but still no door water. I decided to take the back panels off and investigate the defroster area. found big ice chunk in and under the funnel and part way down the drain hose. shut down the freezer and cleared all ice while hoping the drain hose will not fill up for a while,.... thanks for the help!!
