i recieved a ice door kit to replace the defective part. when i removed the old door it had a flat plastic ribbon wire for the door heater. the new parts do not have this wire, i now have an open circut at the door panel because there is nothing to plug into the clip. does this effect the performance of the electrical parts of the refrigerator or not? i have taped off the clip with electrical tape but am concerned about the open circut. if the replacement door does not need to be heated anymore i wish some one would have put that some where in the replacement instructions. can anyone respond to my concerns. thank you

With the connector on the wires there is no way the wire will come together to cause a problem.

They stopped using the heater in some model around the late 90's.
