I just replaced the complete ice dispenser unit because the original solenoid melted the plastic housing and burned the control board on my Maytag MSD2757AE.

The replacement seemed to work fine for about 2 hours before the solenoid again heated up and melted the plastic. The control keypad stopped working as well. Crushed light stays on and buttons no longer function.

I installed a known working (used) assembly to replace the original one.
Obviously, there is some minimal power to the solenoid at all times. Doesn't retract it, just keeps it hot. A high wattage resistor on the control module is also very hot.

Anyone have a good suggestion on this one?

You will have to replace the board and the solenoid with new received parts.

If the housing assembly has melted you will have to replace it as to.

You will need the last didit of your model to get the right color parts.
