We had a new ice maker installed last year. It works fine making the ice, but after it dumps the on/off arm stays in the up/off position - we have to constantly push the arm down for it to work on the next batch. It's not hard to push down, can't find anything that it's getting stuck on - just seems to stay up there. Any suggestions??
If it goes up too high it catches in the off position on a cam. If that's the case you can do some slight bending of the lever to correct it. When you work it up and down by hand is it free and easy and not binding anywhere.
Yes, it moves up and down easily - it just likes to stay up once it goes up there to dump. It will dump, refill and freeze between batches, but it won't dump the new ice until I push the lever down. We'll take a look at your idea.
