Help, my icemaker dispenser will not quit shooting ice out. The flapper seems to work okay but the dispenser keeps shooting ice out as if the flapper was open but it is not. Everything else seems to be working okay. I took off the panel in front of the freezer door and it looks like there is a little black plastic lever that seems like it may be broken because it just pushes in with no resistance.
Does anyone know what that is? and if that is the problem ? and how can I fix it?

This is a Kenmore 26" freestanding dispensing side-by-side refrigerator.
The book lists 2 model #'s with it under "model number" so I am not sure which it really is. Here they are as listed:

Look in the fresh food section of the fridge and there should be a tag with your model and serial number on it this will be the model of your fridge.

In your book what is the part number of the piece you are talking about?
