Default Ice dispenser not working
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 363.9530783
Age: 5 - 10 years

Ice maker works great, dispenses water ok but no ice, cubed or crushed dispensed. Suspected a bad ice bucket and ordered a new one which came today. Ice still does not dispense with new bucket.

Held freezer door open, closed door switch, pressed ice dispense on door, clunk sound as lever closes in rear of unit but no rotation from auger motor. I can manually turn auger motor but it apparently does not turn electrically.

I guess I have eliminated the ice bucket as the suspected faulty component and will be rteurning same. Is it likely that a the auger motor is defective and if so what is the part number and cost for same.

Thanks,
E

Received new auger motor, removed old one from freezer and dispenser unit, lots of rust and moisture. Checked continuity of auger motor coil, tested good. Applied 110 ac voltage to motor, spun right up. Reconnected auger motor in parallel circuit with solenoid and tested for continuity, tested good. Checked for continuity from each of the four pins on plug (which plugs into freezer) to solenoid and auger motor good test. Re-installed dispenser unit in fridge, only the solenoid is activated, auger motor does not activate.

The fact that the Solenoid operates each time leads me to theorise that the door switch is ok and I cannot figure out why the auger motor operates outside the fridge but not when connected in the circuit. I have cleaned the contacts, applied WD40 liberally to the auger motor and contacts but still no go.

The wiring is as follows; Orange wire from the plug to the solenoid and the auger motor. Purple wire from plug to Solenoid. Black wire from plug to auger motor. Green & Yellow wire from plug to frame ground.

I am seeking a wiring diagram to conrinue my troubleshooting and would appreciate any help or advise from the forum.

I am narrowing my problem down to a defective Time Delay Module. Is my theory correct or am I barking up the wrong tree. Helloooo can I get a little confirmation here?????????????????
