I have a problem with my ice maker. When the button at the front is pressed to dispense ice, the ice collects in the chute because the flap will not open. Can anyone
help me in identifying what is wrong and what part(s) needs to be replaced. Other than this the ice maker makes ice and dispenses water correctly. Thanks.

Check and see if the flap is frozen shut.

Can you please supply the rest of your model number?

There should be two more digit at the end.

The model number can be found in the fridge section on a tag with the serial number.

Hi, The model number for my fridge is FRS24ZGEW2, it is almost 10 years old. The flap is neither frozen open or shut. It cannot open and close by itself. After the ice is dispense, the ice collects in the chute. I have to open the door to use a small wooden stick to push the ice down the chute. The chute opens freely, but it just cannot do it by itself. If may the coupling or motor for the flap. I do not know which, I need to open the dispenser to check. Is it open from the front or behind the fridge door? Thanks.

You take the dispenser apart from the front.

There are two screws under the module cover.
