 Ice Dispenser Door Open and Buzzing Brand: Kenmore Model Number: 363-9554750 Age: More than 10 years
The ice dispenser door is stuck open and is buzzing. We had a power surge last week after we lost power due to a lightning storm and we had several electical problems (TV and VCR are toast, I replaced the internal fuses and they popped so the surge was bad). When I open the freezer door, the door switch deactivates the solenoid and the buzzing stops. When I close it, the buzzing stars again and the ice door opens slightly. Another unique thing is the light in the dispenser area turns off when you turn the light switch on. When you turn the switch off, the light comes on dim. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?
