Kenmore Elite doesn't dispense ice. Flapper opens when door paddle is pushed but no ice. I hear a click when paddle is pushed but it may be the flapper actuating. Fridge is two years old...ice dispenser rarely used.
Sheila,
I spoke too soon about the screws under the ice container. Removing them doesn't allow access to the motor. There are no screws in the door liner. I can't determine how to access the motor. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben
Sheila,
There is no access plate anywhere on the inside of the freezer door. The fridge was built in 2005. Could the access be through the front panel where the ice and water dispense paddles are located?
The motor which turns the ice bin screw thing that pushes the ice out is behind the ice bin on my Kenmore. You have to take the bin out and you can see the sticky out things that turn the ice bin screw when you push the paddle. There are screws there that have to be removed to remove the back panel where the motor is. You can see if the motor is turning if you watch while you hold the door switch closed and push the paddle for ice.
