Question Ice Dispenser Does Not Work
Brand: Sears
Age: 1 - 4 years

Ice maker works but will not dispense through the door. The flap on the door does not open to allow ice to come through. Can someone help solve problem?

There's a solenoid in the dispenser which opens and closes the flap. Post your model number for more information.

The solenoid is part number 36 on this diagram. If you don't hear it work when you push the switch that's probably the trouble. If you hear a click then it can be the door or hinge etc.

Thank you. It does drop ice into door but the slot does not open. Still think it is the same thing?
