Default Ice Dispenser
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS26H7CB0
Age: 1 - 4 years

This unit has "crushed" and "cubed" ice available. Will not switch out of crushed no matter which button is used. Unable to determine if either board might be defective. Is there a "fix" for such a problem? Thanks

It may be the solenoid in behind the ice bin that is not engaging for the cubes.

Check the solenoid to see it is pulling up.

Here is a link to your fridge model FRS26H7CB0.

I believe the auger has to engage to get crushed and/or cubes. Is this not correct?
I am getting crushed regardless of the choice of "Crushed" or "Cubed". If this solenoid is defective then would it not stop the auger from doing its thing? Thanks for your help at any rate.

The solenoid determines which route the ice travels after it leaves the bin. One way is through the crusher and the other route the ice just falls out. It's not connected to the auger.
