Default Ice dispencer
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 10657767790
Age: More than 10 years

Occasionally the tube that feeds the ice cube tray will freeze solid and I will take out the ice cube maker, heat the tube with a hair dryer and everything works fine for a good while. However, I can not figure out why the ice is not dispensing through the door. the water comes out fine. I can manually turn the bar when I remove the ice bucket.
Thanks for your help.

Does the auger motor turn when you take the ice bin out. If so it may be worn and weak. replace it. If it doesn't work check for voltage to it.

The water supply tube may be freezing because of a leaking water inlet valve. You can disconnect it where the water line comes out of the valve and see if it drips.

Thank you I will try this tonight. From what I remember, the auger motor is located at the rear of the freezer. On a scale of 1-5, how difficult would replacing the motor be and would I benefit from hiring an expert for this job?

Once you get to the motor that's most of the job. Shouldn't be a problem.

Water inlet valve-Refrigerator Repair Guide: How to Check the Water Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com

frozen water line in freezer door- disconnect water line just before it goes into door at bottom of freezer then try the dispenser switch. If water comes out there then it's probably blocked with ice at dispenser. Use hair dryer.

dispenser switch bad.- replace
