Default Ice cold freezer, warm fridge
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRT18S6AW8
Age: 1 - 4 years

My fridge is very warm, approx 55 degrees. The freezer portion is ice cold. I took off the rear panel in the freezer and it was like a block of ice. I am in the process of defrosting it. The duct that feeds the fridge was covered with ice as well as the drain to the pan. The fan was running. The freezer was packed pretty tight with items. Any idea what might have caused this?

Defrost problem. Check defrost timer, defrost heater, and defrost thermostat.

WoodChuck, thanks for the info. I just dropped the climate control panel in the fridge and i can see into the timer. there is a yellow gear, blue gear and a black gear. The black gear is spinning. Does this mean that the timer is functioning correctly?
