Unhappy Ice buildup in bottom of freezer compartment
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MSD2454GR
Age: 5 - 10 years

Lately I have had water on the floor under the freezer comparment door.
It seems to be comming from inside the freezer. Looks like the water runs down the back of the freezer from a vent at the back and bottom of the freezer. I shut the water off to the icemaker but ice still builds up on the bottom of the freezer. I thought it was from the ice maker but I dont see any water or ice build up in the ice cube holder.
Is it possible for a blocked defroster drain or something like it to be letting the water into the freezer compartment.

Is it possible for a blocked defroster drain or something like it to be letting the water into the freezer compartment. Yes.

Your drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.
