Default Ice Bin missing on Side by Side
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: GC5SHEXNS03
Age: 1 - 4 years

New to the forum and a little confused by the website for parts. I called in and they couldn't help either.

I have a Side by Side fridge that was manufactured 2/06. It has the Ice bin on the freezer door.

Now, when I open my freezer all I see is the metal 'post' that the ice bin fits into.

When I looked up the part in partselect.com it was a little confusing. I bought #1 thinking that is what I needed. Then I receive it today and realize I'm missing pieces. When I looked to buy #2, are the rest of the numbers needed also? Do they fit into part #2?

Is part #100 all these pieces for 1 price??

Info greatly appreciated!!

Yes number 100 is the complete ice bin numbers 1 through 16.

Here is a link to your fridge model GC5SHEXNS03.

Those pieces are or should be in the freezer door.

The ice bin sets on those parts.

I managed to fix the ice bin problem in June. Now, for some unknown reason, it is not producing ice. THe line is working and not kinked. It feels like there are some ice cubes being made, but nothing has landed in the bin since at least 5pm 9/13/07. Any suggestions are a plus!

If there is ice in the mold and it is not being released it could be a problem with the heater.

Make sure that someone did not accidentally shut the ice maker off.

Here is a link on how to test your ice maker.

Hi Sheila.

I haven't had a chance to test. BUT the ice maker has not been shut off AND there are no ice cubes in the ice maker nor in the ice bin.

Could the water line be frozen for the freezer, but not for the dispenser in the door?
