Default Ice bin with augur
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: 2 Door
Age: More than 10 years

The augur sounds like it is getting in a bind. Most of the time it will not crush ice or deliver cubes out the front. There is some rust on the very back end of the augur but so far is not staining the cubes. It looks as if the cubes are entering the tube and the flap which allows them to fall out seems to be opening. Anyhow, we can't get crushed ice or cubes to come out.

Ice will get wedged in the tube you speak of and the ice won't come out. Take your bin out and look for any ice stuck in tube. You can observe the working or the augur by watching it while you hold the door switch closed and push the ice button. For more help give your model number.
