Default Ice between liner and ice chute
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: SSS25KFMDWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

I was repairing the ice chute door today and while trying to figure out how to get to it I noticed about a 1/4 inch of ice solid from the start of the inside to the about 4 inches back inside the ledge between the chute and liner. The liner is completly loose like it had never been sealed. My question is can I thaw this ice out, try to get it dried as best I can and put silicon caulking in the gap to seal it?

I called GE the other day and asked them if my refrigerator qualifies for the replacement door or door repair kit because of the solenoid problem and the guy there (at the 1-800 number) played stupid and acted like there was never such a program. So for now I am on my own :-( any help would be welcomed.

With the ice build up that you are talking about it may be that the heater in the liner is not working.

Look at the freezer door breakdown.

The heater is number 29 on the breakdown.

Here is a link to your fridge model SSS25KFMDWW.
