Default Ice on back wall- inside the freezer...
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSH25KGMB
Age: 5 - 10 years

confused:

We're just going nuts 'cause the ice build up shouldn't be happening anyway.
We have had to replace ice maker parts and the doors were recalled and right after the warranty ran out we started having temp issues. We called out a guy and he replaced the board. The amount of food we're losing is rediculous. Just overnight it went from 30- whatever degrees to 60. We had someone else put the old board back in because it had been working and it had been another manufact. replacement done under warrenty.
The ice build up on the back wall in the freezer is incredible. The last time a guy came out we agreed that the ice maker was overflowing when it filled and maybe that is why the water dripping down the back was why it was frozen. The guy defrosted all the ice and we left off the ice-maker and we have lost our temp and we are covered in backwith ice inside AGAIN.
anybody got a CLUE ??

It sound like the fridge is not defrosting when it should.

Where is the board located that was replaced?

How long has it been since the guy was out?

Thumbs up to shiela

Sheila-
Thank you for a response.
The last guy here for the fridge was end of April and the board is in the back panel. Since then we have defrosted the coils ourselves once and about 10 days ago they were in need again. We are thinking the heater element is not keeping up and defrost mode is having a problem. We have ordered parts from this GE site and hope they get here soon.
In the mean time we have turned the temp up and working on defrosting slowly, minimizing the mess. We have pretty much moved all the food out and all that sort of thing.

Speaking of parts.....
the fed-ex guy just brought the parts to the door. WOO-WOO
well, I will be back on here in a couple days as soon as my hubby can put in the new parts and I guess I need to get busy with that defrosting ordeal.
Anyway, thanks again and I'll be back.
