Default Ice Auger won't shut off
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: 51392
Age: 5 - 10 years

I just replaced the ice accuator and now when I reconnect the cable to the front panel the ice crusher stays on and makes crushed ice. Only way to shut it off is to pull the cable off the front panel. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you please provide your model number?

You will find it on a tag in the fridge section with the serial number.

Check the switch in the dispenser the contact may be welded together.

Check the actuator and make sure that it is installed correctly and not holding the switch closed.

Here is a link to the parts of your fridge model 25351392101.

Excuse my ignorance but where would I locate the switch in the dispenser in order to check the contacts?
The acutuator appears to be installed correctly because when I push either the ice or water lever I can see the switch button being pushed.

The switches are located in the dispenser.

You will have to take the face plate off.

Remove the drip tray and locate the screws in the bottom corners.

I see no problem with the switches as suggested so I'm still stumped on what the problem is.

I checked my switches with an ohmeter and they were fine too. I think it has to be the dispenser control board. As soon as I plug it back in the ice dispenser starts up and doesn't shut off until I unplug it.

I have the same problem. I suspect maybe the problem is in the power board but don't want to spend $100 on a part I can't return. Did you accidentally touch the power board?
