Question Icamaker
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX24R
Age: More than 10 years

the icemaker does not work. there has been no water in the tray for freezing. would this suggest that the trouble lies in the valve supplying water to the icemaker or might the trouble be in the circuity that would activate the valve sending water to the trays?

Default

Fill it with water and see if it will start making ice after it freezes and dumps.

Turn the ice maker off. Go to the water inlet valve and unplug the connector. Put the leads of a voltage tester into connector. Turn back on If it reads voltage you know circuitry is ok. Change the inlet valve. PS when changing valve don't forget to turn off water.
