Default I have water but no ice maker
Brand: General Electric
Age: 5 - 10 years

My ice maker stopped making ice, but the water still dispenses normally. No water is being pumped in the tray and it doesn't sound like it is operating mechanically either. I tried turning the ice maker off and then back on, but there was no change.

And ideas what the problem my be? I'd like to try a fix it myself before calling in a professional. Thanks

B

if it's not working mechanically, it won't pump water into the tray. The contacts that send power to the water valve are operated by the motor and ejector wheel assembly, so if it's not rotating, it will never reach the water fill position.

Therefore, I'd suggest investing the mechanicals/electricals first.

I have a GE Profile Arctica #PS123NG/NS refrigerator. It won't flow water into the freezing tray, while water will dispense (slowly) from the door. When I pull the filter, no water comes out....or is there a valve which automatically closes when replacing the filter? Is this just a simple filter replacement issue or more involved?
